…And I will call it The Choco-maca-chia-mint smoothie! Tell me that doesn’t knock your winter booties off, riiiiight?

For this concoction, I used: 3 homegrown collard green leaves, 1 copious bunch of chocolate mint ( use whatever variety you can grow, see note below), 2 big sprigs parsley, 1 stalk organic celery, 1 organic pear, 1/4c aloe juice,1T cacao, 2T chia, 1T maca, pitted dates (to desired sweetness). Blend all ingredients in the VitaMix for 90 seconds, high speed. Top with ice, blend 15 seconds. Enjoy!

I drink this and feel ALIVE! Three servings of vegetables, one fruit serving, packed with pure, plant based protein and over 10 grams of fiber. Remember, 30-40 grams of fiber a day is my trick to staying lean and mean. How easy can it be?

Note: Even if you have a purple or brown  thumb instead of the proverbial green thumb, fear not. Mint is one of the most forgiving herbs you can grow. Place a cutting or leftover sprig of mint into a container of potting soil in a sunny to partly shaded spot outdoors and water as needed when soil dries out. Mint sends out runners, so you will have a big pot of it in no time. No reason to waste money buying it when it’s SO simple to grow!
